Livingly Media operates three popular online magazines serving a trendsetting female audience, focusing on engaging, visually-rich fashion, beauty, home, and entertainment content. Over 10 million US uniques visit Zimbio, StyleBistro, and Lonny Magazine every month.

With a thriving premium ad business, Livingly is constantly producing high-impact, interactive ads for its brand clients as part of its Creative Services Suite offering. By using Flite, its design team has been able to drastically reduce creative development turnaround time. What’s more, the company has been able to develop its own distinctive ad products that help it differentiate its offerings beyond IAB standard and Rising Star units, leveraging the granular component functionality of the Flite Platform.

“What typically takes two days to develop in a traditional Flash development environment can sometimes take our team only an hour using the templates we’ve built with Flite,” says Jorge Reyna, design director of Livingly Media. “Ad Studio is very intuitive to use as a designer because the interface paradigm is very similar to all the other major tools used in our industry.” When the workload demands it, a single designer can support multiple campaigns simultaneously, something that would be impossible without Flite.

More Innovative Ad Products

Beyond multiplying their productivity, Flite’s robust feature set allows Livingly Media’s design team to use their creative spark to turn around innovative ad products that afford their clients new ways to engage with customers. Livingly’s Video Spotlight, for example, loads a video clip and a selector to view others upon expansion.  Its ThemeStream couples sophisticated transition and expansion effects with a horizontal rotator to yield a remarkably fresh photo browsing experience. The Video Billboard and Gallery Billboard units offer clients flexible layouts with which to convey their message in this common IAB Rising Star unit.

Becoming adept at using Flite Ad Studio took about a week. “Two of Flite’s support classes and three to four days of experimenting with the tools was all it took for me to become proficient. The interface is straightforward, and the action scripting makes sense,” says Reyna. Jorge currently builds out several ad products every week.
